It was around May of last year when I met up with Chris & Jenny for their engagement shoot at Duke Gardens. And it seems like it took way too long for me to meet back up with them at the Grand Hyatt in Denver, CO for their wedding this summer. But it was worth it.

After finding the official Grimaldi’s NYC pizza in Denver on Friday, Amanda from the Hyatt was nice enough to tour the locations with me to make sure I knew how the day would going on Saturday. It’s an awesome location, right in the center of downtown Denver, with locations set up for both ceremony and reception at the top floor. Massive windows give you an amazing panoramic view of the Denver with the Rockies in the distance. And there really was nothing more awesome than watching the sunset over the Rockies from 30 floors up. You really couldn’t ask for a more magnificent view.

The first look we did was awesome. Thanks go out to best man Taylor and MOH Kelley who kept the people traffic diverted while we did the first look at the side of the Hyatt. Taylor had an especially troubling time keeping out a man who seemed determined to deliver a crate of fruit through revolving doors versus the side door to the restaurant. You can actually see his reflection in the photo where Jenny is hugging Kelley inside the hotel before the first look.

During our photos in an alley after the first look, we also encountered a Denver cop on a foot chase after a suspect. After a quick “which way did he go?” Q&A, he continued his mystery chase and we continued the photos.

The reception was fantastic, the toasts emotional and the party had me seeing double. Maybe it was the people, maybe it was the music, maybe it was the city, or maybe just the combination of it all. But either way we saw it raining fire in the sky. Let’s check out the photos and cheers to Chris & Jenny :)
