You couldn’t ask for a better combination for a wedding than mixing in the Persian & Greek cultures. When these two loud, outgoing, dance-loving peoples meet for a wedding, money falls from the sky on the dance floor and loud fingers are snapped, as an endless intertwining of movement from Greek dance circles and Persian hand and napkin twirls go on for hours. Fueled by a mix of alcohol, tea, coffee, and lots of handmade sweets, it is nothing but smiles.
At the center of it all is the fantastic love John and Negin so obviously share. It forges the path for these two people to join their families in a dual ceremony of marriage. The Greek service took place at the spectacular Holy Trinity Greek Church in Charlotte, NC and the Persian ceremony, moderated perfectly by Negin’s sister Subasri, took place in front of a beautiful sofreh at the Peninsula Club.
And a special highlight was seeing Hermes and Lauren as guests at the wedding! I photographed their wedding here at the Peninsula Club back in 2013. It was also so good to see Negin’s friends and family come in from Texas. Khosh Amadeed, va inshallah keh safaretan dar North Carolina khosh gozasht!
Cheers to John & Negin on a fantastic wedding as they move forward in a continuing life together. Let’s check out the photos.
