You’re not going to find two people more focused and more laid back on being in love and wanting to get married than Tyler & Lindsay. And that’s just what happened deep in in the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina at Hawkesdene House.
Around 90 of their closest friends and family came in for the weekend for this destination wedding that included amazing hikes, skeet shooting, great food and lots of fun. The wedding day itself was enhanced with all detailed pieces made by Lindsay, Tyler, and their mom’s. Everything from the centerpieces to special succulents which came in from San Diego and were put into flower beds Tyler made by hand from old pallets. Friends were all around to make sure everything was put in place, helping out with the Rob and his crew from Hawkesdene. What really makes these kind of weddings so special is that you’re not “attending” a wedding, but you’re part of the wedding. You never arrive, you never leave, you’re there. And that’s different. That’s awesome.
Everyone at the wedding was super cool too. Talking Elvis with Lindsay’s mom, footall with her dad, home brew beer with Tyler’s dad, Jenna telling me about her friend who’s boyfriend’s name is Hooman – wait, what? It’s not normal to go meet a bunch of people and someone says “yeah, I know a Hooman” – ha! Throwing down with all the cool bridal party like Lauren, Amanda, Ryan, Caitlin, Perrin, everyone – and watching Lindsay’s long time school friend Jonathan marry them was awesome.
It all comes down to what Tyler said as he passed me on the dance floor around 10pm – “This is the about best night ever!”. It was one of those spur of the moment, outward expressions of joy you just can’t keep in. I just happened to be there to hear him say it. And really that’s all you need to know.
Special thanks to Rob at Hawkesdene for being awesome and keeping the goldfish and M&M jar always full and cousin Marci and bridesmaid Jenna who snagged me a big piece of cake. YUM. In fairness, Jenna did pick up the entire cake and offer it to me. And not just any cake, but the famous Daisy Cake! mmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Cheers to Lindsay & Tyler – let’s check out some photos :)
