2009 Brides Magazine / WPJA International Competition – 2nd place!

In Wedding Photography by Hooman16 Comments

I’m so happy to make this blog post. Brides Magazine, in conjunction with the Wedding Photojournalist Association(WPJA), started an international photo competition since 2007. In that first year, I placed 7th in the Bride/Groom section of the competition, and this year, I’m super excited to post a 2nd place finish in the “Getting Ready” section!

The winning photo is from Katelyn and Peter’s awesome wedding last November in Durham, NC. You can see the official posting and all the other great photos on the WPJA site, and on the Brides Magazine site. All the first place photos are in the current Brides Magazine Nov/Dec issue. Thanks so much to Katelyn, Peter and their families for making such an awesome photo!

What an excellent capture of this emotional tender moment right before the ceremony while the couple is not supposed to see each other.

Love the emotion and the story that is being told in this photo of the bride and groom. Congrats on the award. My guess is their wedding was just as amazing.

I found this old post and had to comment. Not sure if you want a revival of it but the story telling in these images is sensational!
