It was the 2nd weekend in October and I was so jazzed to find myself back at Indian Beach/Emerald Isle with Liza & Clarke. NC beaches are so cool and the wedding locations are always great. And what makes this even a bit more special is that Liza and Clarke are an integral part of Indian Beach and Emerald Isle culture – as they, along with the family, own and run Shooters Restaurant. They are known as one of the top locally owned and run locations for the best seafood on the NC coast, definitely check them out!
The ceremony itself was at the Ocean Club, which is always really nice. And even though this was my fourth or fifth time there this year, all the weddings there have had different layouts, which is really cool. In this case, Clarke and his groomsmen had moved over some awesome old wood church pews to the intercoastal waterway side of the club, where the guests could sit with their feet in the sand, as they watched Liza’s cousin blowing the sweet sounds of a bagpipe as he lead her and her parents to the alter.
Great front clouds moving in set an awesome scene for ceremony and the rain held of until the ceremony was over. Quick movements by Rachel Munro of Bridal by the Sea had the cocktail hour inside in minutes. It turned out those big clouds only brought a few sprinkles, which allowed us to head back out to the pier for some great group and 1 on 1 shots.
The reception was great. With an awesome band pumping out the music, everyone was dancing, having great cake, and having an all around fantastic time. It’s always so hard to narrow down samples, but I’ve managed to get it down to around 20. Scroll down to see them, and don’t forget to say hi to the happy newlyweds when you stop at Shooters :)
