Dipesh & Akta: Indian Wedding Photography in Winston-Salem, NC

In z by Hooman1 Comment

Dipesh & Akta had a fantastic Indian wedding in downtown Winston-Salem, NC last weekend. Dipesh brought his Los Angeles based family, Akta brought her England based family, and we converged on the Benton Convention Center for Friday and Saturday to make it all happen. Friday was centered around ceremonies for Akta, followed by a great dinner and dancing on Friday night. Saturday was an early start of around 8am with some final preps for Akta followed by an inspired portrait session with both Akta & Dipesh.

After some family photos, the cops closed down a block of Cherry St. and Dipesh’s jaan (parade route for the groom’s family to go to meet the bride’s family) went on for about 30 minutes, as he sat atop the convertible Excalibur with friends and family dancing to the drum beating.

After a fantastic ceremony, we spent the night eating some fantastic food, and dancing to the club style mixes of DJ Rang, who came in from Raleigh to make it all happen. After a last dance of around 12:30am, we called it a night.

Special note of Chinton, Akta’s brother, who spent an exceptional amount of time putting together and coordinating this amazing wedding. Also, thanks to friends from Raleigh who came in to help with the wedding: Prashant and Michael to film the day, and the Excalibur of Classy Transportation.

Cheers to both Akta, Dipesh! Let’s check out a few photos.
